Jayne Norrie is a talented singer and professional vocal coach with over 10 years of experience. She has a music degree and post-grad in vocal music, and runs her own business, Forte Music School, where she teaches all levels of vocal students in various vocal genres – from pop, to soul, to jazz. 

And while Jayne’s journey through the music biz hasn’t all been smooth-sailing – she’s become a great example of how you can achieve the extraordinary simply by believing in yourself. 

While singing and teaching music has always been Jayne’s focus, she had to pivot careers pretty quickly – and it landed her on a path she never could have imagined. In 2017, Jayne’s teaching career was thriving. She was running her own online coaching business, teaching choirs, running a course on Skillshare – all while making enough money to sustain herself. 

But then, tragedy struck in 2018. The ripple effect of the gas and oil crisis that year caused her to almost lose her entire business. She couldn’t afford the basic necessities and was rejected from the hundreds of job applications she attempted – but she kept going. 

And somehow, through persistence and simply being herself in a job interview she never thought she’d land – she got a job in the world of coding.

Jayne started working as a developer and software engineer to get back on her feet, and she’s still doing it today – all while pursuing her love for teaching music. She’s still running her online school, is a music coach on Udemy, and today, she’s launching her own vocal course right here at Nas Academy. Jayne will be running her own live, interactive course to help you build your voice and confidence as a performer, overcome your fears, and finally get out on that stage to sing to your heart’s content.
