Message From Me

Hi! I’m Lo, an illustrator and animator based in New York City. Through bright colors and strong figures, my work champions confidence, vibrance, and joy. My art has themes of social justice, female empowerment, and mental wellness. Over the past year, I’ve been commissioned to work with various brands, such as Disney, Amazon, VH1, and The United Nations, and have also been featured on The Ellen Degeneres Show.I’m so proud of the way my creative journey has unfolded so far, but it’s good to remember that it didn’t start out this way. As a journalist and artist, my own journey hasn’t always taken the expected path. Since starting my career as an illustrator, I’ve had to work through feelings of self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and the habits that fed my desire to play it safe. I quickly realized that if I was going to live my fullest potential, I had to take time to reflect, determine my goals, and start the journey towards unlearning the self-imposed limitations on how far I can take my dreams. It was a daunting journey that I needed to take, and I know I’m not the only one who can benefit from it. Our lives are chaotic, so it can be very hard to find the time to reflect on ourselves. I’m here to help you find your potential and put you in the mindset to turn your goals into a reality, using a creative activity called 'vision boarding.' Vision boarding is more than pasting together pictures of things you like, it’s an exercise in knowing who you are, setting goals, and creating a game plan that makes way for practical change. So let’s take three hours and dedicate them to you, your hopes, your limiting beliefs, and your capacity to build the life you want for yourself.I’ve found my universe. Let’s find yours.

What I'll Teach

  • Escape the trap of imposter syndrome
  • Discover your passions and gain the confidence to follow them
  • Create a vision board that represents yourself and your goals
  • Change how you talk about yourself and your future

Topic 1

Lived Experiences

So many influencers jump on a soapbox and say 'quit your job, abandon all fear, and get out there.' While the intention of what they’re trying to do is pure, the advice does not necessarily account for the different privileges people have when it comes to pursuing their dreams.

Lived Experiences
  • Reflect on your past experiences
  • How your experiences have changed your feelings about your creative goals and the risks associated with them
  • Preparations you can make to address your fears, desires, and insecurities
  • Learn how you can achieve your dreams while experiencing growth
Topic 2

You, Now

How would you define yourself and your work? Take care in identifying yourself not only with the things that you clearly do (like your day job as a nurse) but also the things that you want to do more of but may be too scared to call yourself (like being an indie filmmaker).

You, Now
  • Develop language that helps you explain your story to others
  • Accept labels (like artist) that affirm what what you're working towards
  • Find the courage to give yourself certain titles and not wait for someone else to give them to you
  • Reflect on how you want to define yourself
Topic 3

Passions and You

What are you passionate about right now? And how does your work communicate that message? There are so many artists in the world, so why are so few known for their craft?

Passions and You
  • Reflect on your personal passions
  • How your passions set you apart from the crowd
  • How identity can change your path
  • Learn to reflect your passions in your work
  • Make your passions visible on your vision board
Topic 4

Hopes and Futures

What is your biggest hope for the future? Give yourself permission to dream and don’t get discouraged by the logistics of trying to achieve that dream. It’s important to think of how to achieve your dream, but it’s also important to use the language of confidence and speak those big dreams into reality.

Hopes and Futures
  • Put yourself in a mindset that allows you to confidently make decisions and take risks
  • Learn to feel confident in your ability to take care of yourself
  • Give yourself the freedom to imagine and communicate the goals you want to achieve
Topic 5

What Really Matters

At the end of the day, work aside, what really matters to you?

What Really Matters
  • Learn to exist as an individual that is separate from the work you do
  • Reflect on how your career goals match your personal well being
  • Question what really matters in your life
  • Q&A and a chance to share your thoughts and vision board
