Lele Pons was born Eleonora “Lele” Pons Maronese in Caracas, Venezuela. Her dad Luis Pons was an architect, and her mother Anna Maronese was a paediatrician. 

She moved to the United States at the age of five and was raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Miami Country Day School in 2015 and, shortly after graduating, she moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in comedy.

In high school, Lele trained as a classical opera singer. Around the same time, a friend showed her a new app called Vine, where she could create six-second videos on her phone. Little did she know, it would become her full time career and win her the award for “Choice Viner” in 2016.
