Dude Perfect is an American sports entertainment group that is known for their popular YouTube channel. Founded in 2009, the group consists of twins Cory and Coby Cotton, Cody Jones, Garrett Hilbert, and Tyler Toney. Currently, their channel has over 56 million subscribers, and it is widely considered to be the most subscribed sports channel in YouTube history. As of 2021, Dude Perfect’s net worth is estimated to be $50 million.

Who is “Dude Perfect”?

The group first burst onto the scene with their basketball trick shot videos and stereotype series – both continue to be their signature brand of content. It is believed that twins Cory and Coby came up with the name of the group after one of them uttered “dude, perfect” in one of their videos.

Dude Perfect was formed after the group first met while studying at Texas A&M University. As college roommates, they soon discovered their shared passion for one sport in particular: basketball. Since all five members were former high school basketball players, one day, they decided to record themselves betting on trick shots. Their first video titled “Backyard Edition: Our First Video” went on to gain 200,000 views within a week

After the success of their debut video, the group then decided to upload another trick shot video – this time from a summer camp called Sky Ranch. It gained more than 18 million views and helped catapult them to fame. As a result, Dude Perfect’s net worth began to soar – and it wasn’t long before they became some of the richest sports influencers on YouTube

How Did Dude Perfect Get So Famous?

As their channel picked up steam in 2009, the group began receiving requests from sports companies to do videos and endorsements. It was around this time that ESPN asked Dude Perfect to film segments for their shows – including First Take, Around The Horn, SportsNation, and Pardon The Interruption. This resulted in the group coming up with its first record-breaking idea: the world’s longest basketball shot.

Tyler Toney managed to set the record by making the shot from the third floor of Texas A&M’s Kyle Field, and it traveled 3.9 seconds. In October 2010, Dude Perfect decided to extend their world record with a “cross-tower” shot which was 216 feet (66m) high, and the basket was 150ft (46m). This was, again, extended the following year with a shot from the top of Reliant Stadium, which lasted 5.3 seconds.

Dude Perfect introduced their Panda mascot which became famous after showing up at Texas A&M basketball games. Known for taunting players of the opposing team, the Panda went on to make appearances in various on-court challenges, including a tricycle race. While the true identity of the mascot has never been revealed, the group promised to unmask the Panda should they ever reach the same number of subscribers as YouTuber PewDiePie (110 million).

Their first athletic breakthrough happened when former American basketball player Tyreke Evans partnered with the group in an effort to promote his campaign for Rookie of the Year. This eventually paved the way for collaborations with a number of high-profile athletes from all over the world, including Serena Williams, Morgan Beck, Luke Bryan, and Ricky Stenhouse. With each partnership helping generate more revenue, it didn’t take too long for Dude Perfect’s net worth to start growing at a staggering rate.

Dude Perfect’s Net Worth and Income

Since its launch back in March of 2009, Dude Perfect’s YouTube channel has managed to garner over 14 billions views. They usually post once per week on average, with each video receiving over 8 million hits within the first week. The channel itself gets over 5 million views every day, amounting to an estimated revenue of $14,000 per day. This means that, collectively, the group is able to earn $14 million every year – significantly boosting Dude Perfect’s net worth and overall yearly income.

Dude Perfect Monthly Income

Apart from their earnings on YouTube, Dude Perfect has also expanded their net worth through various other ventures. For instance, in 2015, American basketball team, The Harlem Globetrotters, decided to team up with the group and included them in their annual player draft.

Sweet Lou Dunbar, the Globetrotters’ director of player personnel, said in a statement:

“When we conduct our draft, we look for outstanding athletes from different sports all over the world that exemplify the Globetrotters’ efforts to provide service, smiles and sportsmanship globally.”

Besides being another income-earning platform, the move helped to further raise their status as sports influencers – leading to their own television series entitled The Dude Perfect Show, on CMT. The reality show, which aired for three seasons, documented the group’s success as they operated from their headquarters in Frisco, Texas. This meant that Dude Perfect was no longer just a YouTube channel; it had evolved into a media empire with a net worth nearly ten times larger than when it had first started.

Dude Perfect has further diversified their earnings by launching a free mobile game for iOS and Android back in 2011. The game, aptly titled “Dude Perfect,” consisted of challenges that involved a combination of physics-based puzzles and sports adventures. The group went on to release two more mobile games: “Dude Perfect 2” and “Endless Drucker” – both bringing in significant revenue for their brand and helping boost Dude Perfect’s net worth overall.

In 2019, the “dudes” announced their first ever live tour across the US. It gave fans a chance to meet the group and participate in challenges. Dude Perfect 2019 Tour also showcased several of their most popular video series live, including fan favorites such as Overtime, Stereotypes, and Battles. The 20-city tour became such a success that they announced another tour in 2021, with meet-and-greet packages retailing at $499. These tours formed a major chunk of Dude Perfect’s net worth in both years.

The group also sells plenty of merchandise through their online store – backpacks, notebooks, T-shirts, headwear and accessories. With prices ranging from $7 to $55, their average product sales revenue is estimated to be $2,957,950 per month. However, this is not an exact figure as many factors can affect final sales such as audience size, viewership demographic, and merchandise quality.

It is also worth noting that sometimes YouTubers can earn even more through affiliate sales rather than their own merchandise sales, but Dude Perfect’s demographic consists largely of impressionable teens – which is why selling merchandise works so well for them.

Dude Perfect’s Income From Online Courses

Dude Perfect has always focused on creating family-friendly content, and this has allowed them to gain endorsements from companies with similar values. The group is selective about the brands they promote through their channels – to the extent that they have rejected major endorsement deals from alcohol brands, and turned down requests to be featured in some magazines.

With creators today often struggling to develop a content strategy that perfectly aligns with their values, Dude Perfect can share their knowledge of establishing a strong media presence without compromising on one’s ideals or beliefs. By launching online courses dedicated to their brand of “clean” sports entertainment, the group can reach out, not only to their millions of followers, but to a whole new wave of aspiring sports influencers as well.

Dude Perfect On Scene

Sports content is an evergreen niche which can be difficult to get into, especially for up-and-coming creators. Dude Perfect managed to build an expansive net worth over the years by combining their love for basketball and strategic business choices. In other words, they knew how to successfully position their brand through various projects that helped them attract more followers and gradually increase their net worth over time.

While the group currently has no income being generated from online education, starting an online course or launching their own academy could allow them to reap immense financial benefits, and considerably expand Dude Perfect’s net worth as a whole. But there would be much more to this opportunity than just a monetary reward. Creators who turn into educators get the chance to pass on their valuable skills to future creators, and help make significant advancements to the creator economy overall.

This is why at Nas Academy, we are committed to helping turn creators like Dude Perfect, into educators. We provide them a safe platform to design courses that will ensure other aspiring influencers, vloggers, filmmakers, and entrepreneurs will get the most out of every class. Never before has the creator world seen such a massive boost in economic opportunities, and it only makes sense for more people to join the influencer bandwagon, expand their net worth and live out their dreams.
