Hi everyone! My name’s Anthony Francisco, and I’m a Senior Visual Development Artist at Marvel Studios. And I’ve got a question for you: Can you think of an idea for an epic battle scene, one that we’ve never seen before? Really take a moment to imagine what that could possibly look like.That’s just one example of a creative problem that I had to help solve, for the battle between Thanos and Doctor Strange in “Avengers: Infinity War.” I was part of the team that brought all the heroes and villains of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) to life – including keyframes for certain moments, but mostly designing the iconic characters. And what’s great about this course is that you can always take the principles of creature design and apply it to other types of design, too.In my 20-year career as a concept artist, I’ve designed some of the world’s most recognizable characters like Baby Groot for “Guardians of the Galaxy,” Loki from “Thor: Ragnarok,” and the Dora Milaje (Okoye and Nakia) from “Black Panther.” From all of my experiences in the industry, I’ve made a really cool discovery: Anybody can learn to draw unique creatures... in a matter of days.Welcome to my Academy.
